My Dog / Model / Inspiration / Blessing

I can remember begging my dad for years, "Can we please get a dog?" The conversations always ended with a "no" and a list of reasons why. I understood why he felt a dog was not right for our family, but at the same time still yearned to have my own. Having two cats could be a challenge at times, but it was not a "rewarding" or "exciting" as having a dog appeared to be. I believed that dogs always love you but cats can take you or leave you.
Eventually, I began to see that God might have something different in store for our family. As I read the Scriptures and began to be convicted to honor my parents, I started to lay aside my desire for a dog. When I laid the matter to rest, it turned out to be the beginning.
A friend of mine had recently had an accident and her Morkie ended up dying. Shortly after the incident her mother found another Morkie puppy that I fell in love with as soon as I saw him. After a few days, my friend decided to look for another dog and sell the Morkie (Calvin). By this time, my dad's heart had softened and... well, you can guess what our family got for Christmas.

I thank the Lord for allowing me to take care of this special pup. God has blessed me with so much, sometimes it's best to start thanking Him for the little things.
