Mark Twain on Dogs and Cats

“If animals could speak, the dog would be a blundering outspoken fellow; but the cat would have the rare grace of never saying a word too much.”

Great Doggie Doos

If your looking for a place to board your dog over summer vacation, I highly recommend Great Doggy Doos in Cleveland. I personally know the owners and have taken my dog over there several times.
When we first got our dog, my family and I had some friends of ours pet sit while we were away. For a while, it worked out really well. We were happy to let him stay with someone we trusted and he seemed content in playing with their puppy and song bird.
After a few trips, our friends asked us to return the favor while they went camping for a week and a half.  Perhaps we weren't prepared for a high-energy puppy or perhaps we had gotten used to a quiet, obedient dog, whatever it was, we were all exhausted at the end of the week and a half. Our family loves animals, but over the course of eleven days, we discovered that we were not meant to be in the dog-sitting business.
When we decided to go on another trip, we all begged our mother and father to do something different with the dog. Knowing we could not handle another day watching any more dogs, pups or otherwise, she looked into boarding. Being friends with the owners, we decided to try Great Doggy Doos, and have not gone anywhere else.

Check into them, you'll be glad you did.

To Use, or Not to Use. That Is the Question.

Okay, I absolutely love the colors in this fabric but I can't decide whether or not to use it. I am opening it up to you guys for discussion. Totally cute or super weird? Leave a comment and let me know. Here is a picture:

My Dog / Model / Inspiration / Blessing

I can remember begging my dad for years, "Can we please get a dog?" The conversations always ended with a "no" and a list of reasons why. I understood why he felt a dog was not right for our family, but at the same time still yearned to have my own. Having two cats could be a challenge at times, but it was not a "rewarding" or "exciting" as having a dog appeared to be. I believed that dogs always love you but cats can take you or leave you.
Eventually, I began to see that God might have something different in store for our family. As I read the Scriptures and began to be convicted to honor my parents, I started to lay aside my desire for a dog. When I laid the matter to rest, it turned out to be the beginning.
A friend of mine had recently had an accident and her Morkie ended up dying. Shortly after the incident her mother found another Morkie puppy that I fell in love with as soon as I saw him. After a few days, my friend decided to look for another dog and sell the Morkie (Calvin). By this time, my dad's heart had softened and... well, you can guess what our family got for Christmas.

I thank the Lord for allowing me to take care of this special pup. God has blessed me with so much, sometimes it's best to start thanking Him for the little things.
